Nigerian Woman Facing Jail In London For False Rape Accusation

Comfort Yinusa who works for the London Underground (metro rail) is facing jail for falsely accusing an accountant of rape to spite him for picking her up late after a night out in the busy and popular Liverpool Street in Central London. She will be sentenced at the Old Bailey (a la Ibori) on Friday in London by Judge Peter Rook QC.

Ms Yinusa called 999 (emergency line) after the incident and the unnamed accountant and another man were arrested. Ms. Yinusa is understood to be dating a Nigerian man, Kenneth Umezie, reports The Daily Mail UK.

This kind of false accusation is the reason why many women who are real rape victims have problems being believed. Also, given the Nigerian heritage of this lady, many Nigerians will likely get stigmatized even more than they already are.
